March is here, and in my world, that means music, desserts, and birthday fun! 🥳 This month is packed with exciting new lessons, tasty treats, and—of course—a little St. Patrick’s Day magic (because, fun fact, it’s my birthday! 🎉).
🎶 Recorder Lessons Begin!
The kids are about to dive into the wonderful world of the recorder! We’re starting simple—learning G, A, and B first—using the Prodigies curriculum. I love how structured and colorful their lessons are, and I can already see how much it’s going to help these students grow in their musical skills.
🎼 How My Classes Work
My classes are lively, to say the least. 😂 We don’t do the whole “raise your hand and wait” thing—my students know they can talk to me, ask questions, and be fully involved. Each week, they get hands-on with instruments, and we build skills together. This month, we’re focusing on:
✔️ Recorder basics 🎵
✔️ Call-and-response rhythm exercises 👏
✔️ Story songs (this month: The Unicorn 🦄)
✔️ Fun, interactive games to reinforce music theory 🎶

🦄 Unicorns & Sweet Treats
Speaking of The Unicorn song, my students aren’t just singing about unicorns this month—they’re eating them too! 🦄✨ I’m making unicorn-themed desserts all month long, because why not? It’s my birthday month, and as the saying goes: It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to! 😂
🎂 Big Plans, Bigger Fun
March is all about setting the stage (literally) for what’s coming next. The kids don’t know it yet, but we’re working toward something really cool. For now, we’ll focus on making music, having fun, and—of course—eating lots of unicorn desserts. Stay tuned! 😉
🎂It’s Someone’s Birthday!🎂

It’s Abriella’s birthday, so I surprised her with her favorite dessert as a birthday cake! It is a vanilla butter cake with marshmallow frosting. Yum!
